...Loneliness...they smiled through it...
....they sat across the room from me, although there were people all around us, they sat alone. I could see the strain in their face, the pain they were carrying. They smiled through it anyway. Their countenance seemed heavy from what I could see; their shoulders were drooping with concern. Yet, they smiled through it anyway. I saw them try and lift their head, it seemed as if they would collapse from the effort. They were able to fake it through. I'm not sure how they made it this far today, at least not without breaking down. I tell you they smiled through it anyway. ....unfortunately they had but one companion "loneliness", it fills all of the empty spaces in their life right now. Loneliness tells them, “I told you no one cares and I told you, you don't matter.” Loneliness fills their life with lies that say to them “why bother, you have no value here, who's going to want to waste their time on you?” ...I see them looking around the room, hoping, praying, desperate to see if just one person, just one, would reach out to them, for them. Please, please someone, anyone... I sat across the room from you today and although there were people all around us,I sat alone and lonely; sadly

I smiled through it anyway....
